By providing “know your rights” cards and whistles to our members, we maintain vigilance in our communities.  We have seen the horrifying effects that other areas have experienced and will continue to remind our members of the actions we can take. We will continue to speak out against ICE until the members of our community are no longer facing the impending threats of violence that ICE has subjected us to.\

Fort Wayne DSA is working to build connections within the leftist space and the broader community of Fort Wayne and the surrounding area. We aim to form strong bonds and coalitions with these other working leftist organizations, as the only way real change can happen is if we work together for common goals. Additionally, we support organizations and causes within the broader Fort Wayne community that we believe align with our view of a more equitable future for all. For example, we held a music + art benefit show where all proceeds went to a local organization for women and families impacted by domestic violence. We raised more than $2000 that night.

We want to grow an active leftist presence in Fort Wayne, Indiana and we need you in order to make it happen. Come to a community outreach meeting or a Saturday social to get to know us!

The Fort Wayne DSA is opposed to commercial gambling on principal as it is an extractive business model that doesn’t add value to a community, exploits the desperation of working people, exacerbates existing social ailments like addiction and domestic abuse, and pits local entertainment and hospitality venues against a large corporate backed venue.

In service of this opposition the Fort Wayne DSA is working to oppose a proposed casino move into North East Indiana as we believe that it would be harmful to the people, community, and economy of the region.

Google built and is expanding a data center campus in our community. They did this under Non-Disclosure agreements and repeated attempts to circumvent community notification. We have spoken out on the effects the data center will have on our community at IDEM hearings and city council meetings. We are working towards removing the structures that allowed this to happen. We are speaking out about additional permits and trying to mitigate the damage. There is a committee we have dedicated to maintaining focus on this project so we can react to additional permitting requests as they arise. The name used on local permits is “Project Zodiac” and presently we are in phase 3 of what is projected to be a 10 phase project.
